Africa Accommodated Tours
Even though the traditional overland travel experience is usally done camping, we understand that a camping trip through Africa isn't everybody's glass of Amarula. Thats why the Africa overland travel concept has evolved into offering budget accommodated safaris in Africa - overland style.
A Night's Rest on Africa Accommodated Tours
A camping safari sees you with a tent and flattish piece of grass to hunt down every night, but when you're on one of our Africa accommodated tours you have far more varied accommodation. Our budget accommodated safaris in Africa see you hopping from a variety of hotels, hostels, chalets, bungalows, permanent safari tents and sometimes even traditional huts.
Getting Bang for Your Buck with an Africa Accommodated Tour
We've chosen our accommodation options carefully; these are not luxurious accommodations, but they still offer a more comfortable option to the adventure traveller. This way we can still give you the bang for your buck you're looking for on a budget accommodated safari in Africa.
Basic Budget Accommodated Safaris in Africa
When you're on one of our Africa accommodated tours, the accommodation is basic. It is a budget accommodated safari in Africa afterall. The accommodation is a one-step upgrade from the camping tours. Most of the accommodation on your overland tour will be twin share in Southern Africa, if there is space, you can ask for a single option, but chances are very limited. Another bonus about venturing off on an accommodated tour in Africa is that you don't have to bring your sleeping bag along. The budget accommodation safaris include sleeping at establishments that provide clean bedding. Bonus! It's not the case in East Africa though...
East Africa Budget Accommodated Tours
In East Africa, accommodation is shared 3-4 per chalet bungalow. If you'd like to upgrade to twin accommodation in East Africa, you'll find it's pretty cheap and usually fairly easy to arrange with the accommodation provider when you arrive. It all depends on availability though. In East Africa sleeping bags are still required on the accommodated tours - not all facilities provide bedding. You'll also find that when you're in East Africa on one of our budget accommodated tours, not all the accommodation is en-suite, but you will have access to shared bathroom facilities.

The highlight of my trip had to be Gweru in Zimbabwe, it was my idea of paradise. So much to do there with the animals and the location of it was just beautiful!

The trip was great! A very relaxed ride in a mokoro, followed by camping in the Okavango Delta and watching the animals on the islands was awesome!
