The most typical Zimbabwe religion you may encounter on your Overlanding Africa.com is Christianity; however a number of traditional beliefs are practiced in addition to Christianity. Despite having 'mainstream' religions, like many African countries, traditional beliefs play a key role in Zimbabwe culture, with many practicing traditional religions alongside westernised religion.
The largest Christian group in Zimbabwe is the Lutheran church, while other Christian groups include Roman Catholics, Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists and Mormons. There are also a number of Zionist Churches (a mixture of traditional African beliefs and Pentecostal Christianity), especially in urban areas such as Harare.
