Zimbabwe money & banking is notoriously tough – the political issues and decline of the economy have had a huge impact on the country from a financial point of view, resulting in massive inflation, price hikes and an almost worthless currency. The Zimbabwe Dollar has become something like a joke to the rest of the world, and with prices being pushed up to try and address the failing economy, you will need a carry-all to keep your currency. American Dollars may be accepted at some outlets, while credit cards may be accepted at lodges and tourist destinations.
There are banks in Harare and Bulawayo; however they may not be able to have all the facilities you may require such as foreign exchange and so on. The best plan is to get there as early as possible.
