Poaching is one of the biggest threats facing the country’s wildlife populations, and the political struggles and instability in Zimbabwe has played a huge role in the decimation of wildlife – even in Zimbabwe’s national parks and reserves. Rhino and elephant are the most at risk, due to the huge value that their horns and tusks respectively have to offer.
Preservation Zimbabwe
With a large number of national parks, reserves and protected areas, preservation Zimbabwe efforts seek to address the environmental issues in the country, and protect current populations of wildlife. A number of endangered species of bird and animal are found in Zimbabwe, while certain habitats are being destroyed. Conservation groups, advocacy groups and various other organisations work tirelessly to address the balance, to protect Zimbabwe’s natural resources for future generations.
