Bulawayo is the second largest city in Zimbabwe and is the bustling
hub of much activity in the area. A stone's throw south of Bulawayo
is the Matobos National Park. It is a huge tourist drawcard because
of the granite rock formations, opportunities to walk with rhinos,
wooded valleys and perennial vegetation.
The Matobos National Park is actually a sacred ground that is the
Ndebele’s rain shrine to Mwari, the God of their ancestors.
Matobos National Park is a game park that is rich in Zimbabwe’s
traditional history and culture. Marvel at the granite intrusions
that loom above you, take a stroll near one of the quiet streams
or relax near a dam.
