Zambia Overland Tours
The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of the newest parks in Zambia
and it is well worth a visit because it is situated right near a
scattered few islands of the great Zambezi river. The park is nestled
between the northern escarpment and the reed islands of the Zambezi
River.
The small islands attract plenty of wildlife as the river is in
its "old age" stage, meaning it does not flow furiously,
making it a perfect isolated area for wildlife to gather and drink.
Game viewing is great in this area and is best explored via a canoe.
Swimming is not advised in this area as it is littered with hippos
and crocodiles! Temperatures are very high during the summer months,
so many of the resorts and accommodation along the banks of the
river are equipped with swimming pools!
Although new, the Lower Zambezi National Park is well worth a visit
and provides a unique combination of adventure coupled with game
viewing!
