Kampala Budget Travel
Kampala is the capital city of Uganda, and is situated in the South Central part of the country close to the shores of Lake Victoria.
Kampala budget travel is an essential part of any Ugandan experience, and has a lot to offer visitors to this thriving city.
Kampala Budget Safaris
Kampala budget safaris havea number of cheap hostels and accommodation on offer, making it great for budget travel. Visitors should ensure that rooms are clean however, as it can sometimes be better to pay a bit more for a good room.
Kampala is extremely safe, with an almost non-existent crime rate, and is safe to walk around even at night.
Locals are extremely friendly and welcoming, and many speak English, so visitors can enjoy learning about the Kampala way of life.
Attractions in Kampala include the Uganda Museum, Kasubi tombs where the remains of the Kings of Buganda were buried, Nommo Art Gallery, National Theatre, Rubaga and Namirembe Cathedrals and the Parliament of Uganda which is home to the city’s independence monument.
Activities include white water rafting on the Nile, bungee jumping over the Nile, and safaris through the surrounding area.

Hi John. At this stage there is currently no reason why not to go to Kampala in Uganda. We only sell scheduled overland truck safaris. Your best bet would be to contact a local letting agent in Kampala who will better be able to assist you with information on cost of living. Good Luck!

With regards to Uganda Kampala in Africa is it safe to work here? Then another thing how much is the rent and the food cost?

Oh Peter - what a tough question! It has been year or 2 since I was in Uganda but you shouldn't go too wrong with the following: as a rule Visa is accepted everywhere (as their advertising says ,) ). Most of the bigger cities, such as Kampala, have ATM's that accept cards marked with Maestro/Cirrus at international banks such as Stanic/Stanbic/Standard Bank and Barclays/ABSA. The biggest mistake people make is to not notify their own bank that they will be using their cards overseas - so the first time you use it your bank blocks it thinking the card is stolen. Advise your bank before you travel. Banking in Uganda is fairly primitive compared to some other African countries so it does not hurt to have cash on hand just in case and don't rely on the ATM's having cash even if they do accept your card. Good luck!

Hello. Can you tell me if the Maestro Card is accepted in ATM's in Uganda. Some sites say that it is Visa only but some imply that some banks notably Stanic Bank does accept this. Could you possibly advise which is the case. Thank You.
