Holiday in Turkey - What to Buy for your Holiday to Turkey?

Not sure what to buy for your holiday to Turkey? Before leaving, you can stock up on items such as spare batteries for your camera and torch (even though you will find batteries in large cities, you may not have access to shops in the more rural areas), Turkey guide book as well as bird guide and Turkish phrase book. Other items to buy include thick socks for hiking boots, refillable water bottle and a basic first aid kit.

During your holiday in Turkey you will also have the chance to do some shopping at local markets and stores. Some of the things on offer in Turkey include clothing (designer brands and knock-offs), beautiful antiques, alabaster, decorative copper item, carpets, jewelry, leather items, heavenly spices, Turkish evil eye beads, silk, inlaid wood items and many other exotic treasures. The best places to shop are the bazaars that are found throughout the country. Prices vary per market, with excellent discounts on offer. This is where it comes in handy knowing a few key Turkish phrases like “how much?” (“Kaç tane?”) or “what's this?” (“Bu ne?”).
