AIDS in Turkey

There is no real risk of Turkey AIDS or HIV on your travels, with a rate of less than 0.1%. This can be attributed to the fact that Turkey is a largely Islamic nation with a very conservative approach, resulting in far less promiscuity and related issues such as sexually transmitted diseases. HIV positive travellers who enter the country should be aware that some level of suspicion and hostility may be encountered, especially from very conservative citizens.

HIV & AIDS in Turkey

Just like any other country however, it is always best to take precautions to prevent Turkey HIV & AIDS on your OverlandingAfrica.com adventure. Turkish culture does not accept homosexuality or obvious shows of promiscuity or even public affection, and as such single travellers should take extra precaution to avoid sexual contact with strangers. Couples who are not married should also be sensitive to the culture in Turkey, and avoid obvious displays of affection. Shared needles and other instances that could transfer HIV are also highly cautioned.
