It is not too much hassle arranging visas for Tanzania – visa requirements are fairly straight forward and easy to arrange. Most foreign nationals will require a visa to visit Tanzania, and visas are generally best organised before leaving for the country.
The following is required to apply for a visa for Tanzania:
• A valid passport of 6 months minimum is required
• A yellow fever certificate may be required if travelling from an infected zone
• Return air tickets plus proof of sufficient funds are required
Visas typically take anything from 3 days, to a week or more if you have ordered a visa by post. Single-entry visas are valid for up to three months from date of issue, while multiple-entry visas are valid for one year. The maximum length of stay in Tanzania is three months, and extensions or renewals can be made at Immigration in Dar Es Salaam.
