Syria Transport

Syria transport is relatively simple, with a host of affordable and easy ways to travel around the country. For public transport, it will help hugely if you are able to speak a bit of Arabic, as most taxi drivers and other public transport operators speak little English. Prices vary depending on the method of transport, with varying levels of speed, efficiency and affordability.

Getting around Syria

Some of the best ways of getting around Syria include private taxis, which are easily identified by their yellow colour. Costs are reasonable, and these are also the most reliable forms of transport. Very few drivers speak English however, so make sure that you can ask things like ‘how much?’ and tell the driver your destination. Microbuses are one of the cheaper options, and are tiny white vans that are able to navigate busy roads with ease. Cycling offers a fun and interesting way to travel, and is also one of the cheapest, while trains and regular buses are also available.
