Damascus Airports

Damascus airports include Damascus International Airport, which is the only major airport in the area. There are 6 other major airports in the country, these are know as; Al Thaurah, Aleppo Nejrab, Deirezzor Al Jafrah, Kameshli, Latakia Hmelmin and Palmyra. Rental cars can be hired from several companies at the international airport. Taxis can be hired too but fares need to be negotiated before the time.

Airports in Damascus include a number of airlines, including United Arab Emirates Airlines and Lufthansa. The National Carrier is Syrian Arab Airlines. To enter the Syrian Arab Republic a visa, acquired prior to departure from one’s country of permanent residence, is required. This is the case for almost all nationalities including UK, Republic of Ireland, EU, US, Canadian, New Zealand and Australian passport holders.
