Syria Customs - Overlanding Africa.com

Syria customs on your Overlanding Africa.com trip are fairly straightforward. Certain items are permitted within reason to bring into the country, while other items are prohibited from import or export. Prohibited items include the following:

•    Firearms and ammunition
•    Live, frozen or stuffed birds or any bird derived products

Export limitations and fees are not enforced on other items however, and tobacco and spirits may be taken out of the country without cost.

Bringing pets into the country may be tricky, and all pets need to be accompanied by a government veterinarian health certificate issued at the point of origin. Pet birds may not be brought into the country as cabin baggage, hold baggage or cargo, even if a vet certificate is provided, except in the case of falcons.
