For travellers who have malaria Aleppo concerns – malaria in Aleppo is almost non-existent, so generally speaking travellers do not need to worry about taking malaria medication. With that said, there is always a very minor risk in every country, and taking basic precautions is advised.

Malaria prevention tips for Aleppo budget travel include the following:

•    Sleep with mosquito nets where possible
•    Keep a tin of mosquito spray nearby, and spray your tent or room at night before going to sleep for the night
•    Keep a mosquito repellent lotion or cream at hand to use during night time or when outdoors
•    Use incense or citronella candles to keep mosquitoes at bay
•    Keep a look out for malaria risks when travelling, and consult a doctor if you are in any doubt
•    Never take malaria medication unless your doctor recommends that you start a treatment
