The huge sand dunes surrounding Swakopmund in coastal Namibia are the perfect playground for speed freaks and adrenaline junkies.
While Swakopmund Sandboarding is not an 'extreme sport' as such it certainly will get the blood pumping.
After kitting up and a safety briefing you will start a sandy climb to the top of a big star dune (which will be called Izzy or Dizzy or something similar).
At the top you lay yourself face down on a piece of plyboard, strap on your helmet and launch yourself down the sloping dune side!
Reach speed of up to 80kms/hr before coming to a (usually) gentle stop at the bottom.
Only one thing left to do after that - head back to the top and start again!

The highlight of my trip had to be Gweru in Zimbabwe, it was my idea of paradise. So much to do there with the animals and the location of it was just beautiful!

The trip was great! A very relaxed ride in a mokoro, followed by camping in the Okavango Delta and watching the animals on the islands was awesome!
