Sphinx

It has been shot at, climbed on, half buried, roughly excavated, ridiculed and the best view of it is sadly from the second floor window of Pizza Hut, but still the Sphinx at Giza stands proudly and mysteriously under the shadow of the Great Pyramids.

Pharaohs head rests upon a lions body and its supine form has guarded the entrance to the Giza Plateau for thousands of years.

No journey to Cairo or Giza would be complete without time spent at the Sphinx and although he is missing a nose you will still be amazed at the technology that had to have existed to build a monument of this size 5000 years ago.

Why do the Sphinx?

Ancient Egypt at its best Half Lion, half Pharaoh Giza Plateau Guarding the Pyramids of Giza
