A day-by-day breakdown of what to expect and where you'll be staying.
Day 1, Cape Town
Enjoy the 'Mother City' at leisure today. With so much to see and do it would be worth getting out early and making the most of it!
Day 2, Cape Town to Cedarberg
This morning we make our way northward out of Cape Town, passing through the beautiful wine lands. We set camp tonight in the shadow of the Cederberg Mountains.
Day 3, Cedarberg to Orange River - Namibia
Today we journey to a region that is renown for its wildflower display in the Spring, Namaqualand. We make a quick pit stop in Springbok for supplies before journeying on to the Orange River. We cross the border into Namibia and tonight we sleep on the Orange Rivers edge.
Day 4, Orange River - Namibia to Fish River Canyon
An optional canoe trip on the calm Orange River is available here before we travel further into Namibia. Our campsite is Hobas, which is only a short drive away from the Fish River Canyon.
Day 5, Fish River Canyon to Sesriem
We enter the Namib Naukluft Park and the oldest desert in the world today as we drive towards the dune fields of Sesriem and Sossusvlei. The stark but stunning landscape is worthy of some brilliant photos!
Day 6, Sesriem to Sesriem via (Sossusvlei)
The parched Namib Desert has endless orange dunes blown into sharp ridges by the sand-shifting wind and at Sossusvlei they from a gateway into the Namib Desert. We will walk to Sossusvlei, explore Sesriem Canyon and from the comfort of our lodge outside the national park watch dramatic sunsets over the world's highest sand dunes
Day 7, Sesriem to Swakopmund
A spectacular sunset awakens us this morning. We travel north towards Walvis Bay via some glorious desert passes, and make our way along the coast, before finally arriving in Namibia's prime adventure resort - Swakopmund.
Day 8, Swakopmund
A leisure day today to get the feel of this quaint German town sandwiched between the edge of a massive dune field and the ocean. Take on some adventure activities or relax in a cafe on the beachfront.
Day 9, Swakopmund to Brandberg
We travel up the coast to visit the Cape Cross Seal Colony before heading to Namibia's highest peak - Brandberg (burning mountain) where bushman rock paintings can be seen in the foothills.
Day 10, Brandberg to Etosha National Park
We stay in the Damaraland area and travel on to Twyfelfontein where we explore more of this desert landscape.
Day 11, Etosha National Park
A full day of game drives and waterhole viewing as we try to catch a glimpse of some of the plains game and Big 5 that reside in Etosha National Park.
Day 12, Etosha National Park to Windhoek
We leave the wildlife to head to the capital city of Windhoek. You may wish to explore this city steeped in German atmosphere or choose to enjoy a flagon of ale at one of the local taverns.
Day 13, Windhoek to Ghanzi
We cross into Botswana and enter the Kalahari region. The sand masses of the Kalahari were created by the erosion of soft stone formations. The wind shaped the sand ridges, which are so typical of the landscape of this area. We take a walk with the local Bushmen to learn fascinating bush skills.
Day 14, Ghanzi to Maun
From Ghanzi we head to Maun which is the gateway to the Okavango Delta.
Day 15 to 16, Maun to Okavango Delta
You have the opportunity to take a 3 day / 2 night excursion into the Delta. You travel in local transport and then in mokoros, the local dug out canoes, which are poled by local guides through the winding waterways. These local canoes are a perfect way to navigate this waterway wonder - the biggest inland Delta in the world. Your guides will select a place out in the bush to set up camp. An afternoon game walk will allow you to experience the Delta wilderness in all its glory.
Day 17, Okavango Delta to Makgadikgadi Pans
From the lushness of the Delta we travel east to the vastness of the Makgadikgadi Pans.
Day 18, Makgadikgadi Pans to Chobe National Park
From the vastness of the Makgadikgadi Pans we travel to the rushing waters of the Victoria Falls. We cross the border to Zimbabwe and arrive in the town of Victoria Falls.
Day 19, Chobe National Park to Victoria Falls
Our day is at leisure to explore the town of Victoria Falls and experience some of the many activities.
Day 20 to 21, Victoria Falls
Explore the town on foot, visit local craft markets or give the adrenaline levels a rush with one of the many activities on offer. Our tour comes to an end in this adventure town on Day 21.
