A day-by-day breakdown of what to expect and where you'll be staying.
Day 1, Cape Town to Cedarberg
This morning we make our way northward out of Cape Town, passing through the beautiful wine lands. We set camp tonight in the shadow of the Cederberg Mountains.
Day 2, Cedarberg to Orange River - Namibia
Today we journey to a region that is renown for its wildflower display in the Spring, Namaqualand. We make a quick pit stop in Springbok for supplies before journeying on to the Orange River. We cross the border into Namibia and tonight we sleep on the Orange Rivers edge.
Day 3, Orange River - South Africa to Fish River Canyon
An optional half day canoe trip on the calm Orange River is available here this morning. After enjoying lunch we border cross into Namibia. Our campsite is Hobas, which is only a short drive away from the Fish River Canyon.
Day 4, Fish River Canyon to Keetmanshoop
Entering the Kalahari Desert area of Namibia we visit the Kokerboom (Quiver tree) Forest. The Kokerboom or Quiver Tree Aloe dichotoma is a tree aloe and is one of the most characteristic plants of Namibia.
Day 5, Keetmanshoop to Sesriem
This morning those who wish to spend some time with the !Kung tribe will have the chance to do so. Later we drive west towards the massive dunes of Sossusvlei and the Namib Naukluft Park.
Day 6, Sesriem to Sesriem (via Sossusvlei)
An early start as we enter into the park and head for Dune 45. Clamber to the top for a stunning high-point view over the dunes. We continue to Sossusvlei and from here you will have your own free time to explore the vlei or the surrounding area. Stunning photographic opportunities are available in the dunes so bring those cameras!!
Day 7, Sesriem to Swakopmund
A spectacular sunset awakens us this morning. We travel north towards Walvis Bay via some glorious desert passes, and make our way along the coast, before finally arriving in Namibia's prime adventure resort - Swakopmund.
Day 8, Swakopmund
A leisure day today to get the feel of this quaint German town sandwiched between the edge of a massive dune field and the ocean. Take on some adventure activities or relax in a cafe on the beachfront.
Day 9, Swakopmund to Kamanjab (via Himba Village)
Heading inland, we drive north towards Kamanjab where we meet with the local people from this area. The Himba are a pastoral people and predominantly breed cattle or goats. Encountering a totally different way of life can be a moving experience for many people.
Day 10, Kamanjab to Etosha National Park
The jewel of Namibia's wildlife crown awaits - Etosha National Park. After a brief stop to check in we spend some time game driving through a small part of the park on our way to our camp.
Day 11, Etosha National Park
Today we enjoy a full day of game driving, making our way east along the length of the park. After dinner make your way to another floodlit water hole to see what animals arrive at the water to drink, or relax at the campsite.
Day 12, Etosha National Park to Windhoek
We leave the wildlife to head to the capital city of Windhoek. You may wish to explore this city steeped in German atmosphere or choose to enjoy a flagon of ale at one of the local taverns.
Day 13, Windhoek to Ghanzi
We cross into Botswana and enter the Kalahari region. The sand masses of the Kalahari were created by the erosion of soft stone formations. The wind shaped the sand ridges, which are so typical of the landscape of this area. We take a walk with the local Bushmen to learn fascinating bush skills.
Day 14, Ghanzi to Maun
From Ghanzi we head to Maun which is the gateway to the Okavango Delta.
Day 15, Maun to Okavango Delta
This morning we head to the airport, jump into our planes and head into the Delta where we are based for the next 2 days.
Day 16, Okavango Delta
Early morning and late afternoon game walks give you time in the middle of the day to relax, chill out and enjoy your surroundings. Why don't you have a go at poling your own mokoro? It is not as easy as it looks!
Day 17, Okavango Delta to Gweta (via Maun)
We are transferred out of the Delta to meet back up with our truck before a short drive takes us to our interesting overnight stop on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park.
Day 18, Gweta to Kasane
Our drive today takes us through and around the Makgadikgadi and Nxai Pans before we turn north towards the Chobe National Park. The afternoon can be spent on a scenic boat cruise on the Chobe River.
Day 19, Kasane to Victoria Falls
After a hearty brunch we make our way into Zimbabwe and to Victoria Falls. Approx 1700 m wide and 100 m high, Victoria Falls is a memorable sight! Take part in one of the many adventure activities or relax by the pool.
Day 20, Victoria Falls
The last day on safari gives you the opportunity to just relax and enjoy this spectacular natural wonder or you can join in the adrenalin rush that Victoria Falls is known for. Most activities are available throughout the year. On the ground the Falls can be seen from the Victoria Falls Park or from the Zambian side. Take a flight which will give you a panoramic view of the Falls, Batoka Gorge and the islands above the falls. Photographic opportunities abound. We suggest you allow yourself a few days after your safari if you wish to partake in some of the many activities.
