Pierre du Toit19 Apr 2012: My name is Pierre du Toit and I live in New Zealand. A few of my friends and I have been considering a bike trip in South Africa for some time. We were thinking of a 14 day trip in late September - early October. We were thinking of a group of about 6 or 7. We will have to rent bikes in South Africa. I was thinking that a trip from Paarl / Wellington up through the Karoo (Calvinia??) through Augrabies; maybe a loop through the southern Kalahari and then across to Namibia and back down the coast to the Cape. The Karoo and desert scenery will blow away these Kiwi's minds as everything here is GREEN!!!! Also; they would never have seen open space like this before. We are quite happy to camp overnight; but it could be an idea to have a night in a lodge/hotel/ bed-and-breakfast every third night for a bit of comfort. We'll be bringing our own riding gear. Can you supply the support vehicle? Any suggestion will be welcomed.
