Philae Temple
The ancient Philae Temple is located on a small island in the middle of the Nile River just outside of Aswan.
With the more modern construction of the Aswan Low and High Dams the original site was for most of the year underwater, until the late 1970’s when the Temple was relocated to higher ground on Agilika Island.
Philae Temple can be reached by ferry from the mainland and its reconstructed pylons and pillars are well worth a look.
Why do the Philae Temple?
Relocated to high ground
Well preserved monument
Nile River island site

The highlight of my trip had to be Gweru in Zimbabwe, it was my idea of paradise. So much to do there with the animals and the location of it was just beautiful!

The trip was great! A very relaxed ride in a mokoro, followed by camping in the Okavango Delta and watching the animals on the islands was awesome!
