A day-by-day breakdown of what to expect and where you'll be staying.
Day 1, Windhoek to Fish River Canyon (via Keetmanshoop)
A long drive ahead as we travel south towards the Quiver Tree Forest near Keetmanshoop. Quiver trees are not in fact trees, they are a type of aloe, and these weird looking plants, although rare, cover the landscape in this region. Further south we reach the famous Fish River Canyon and spend some time looking out over this beautiful scene before heading to tonight's stop.
Day 2, Fish River Canyon to Aus
This morning we head to the 2nd biggest canyon in the world - Fish River Canyon where we partake in an optional walk along the rim before we proceed on to the Aus region.
Day 3, Aus to Aus (via Luderitz)
The short drive to Luderits takes us through the territory of the unique Namib wild horses so keep your cameras ready. Reaching Kolmanskop, just outside of Luderitz, we get some insight into this old, and now abandoned, diamond mining 'ghost town'. We then have time to explore Ludertiz itself before returning to Aus via the 'Forbidden Zone' (where diamonds were collected straight off the ground during the 1920's and 30's).
Day 4, Aus to Sesriem
From the Aus region we are off to the oldest desert on the planet which is found at the Namib Naukluft National Park. The giant sand dunes of Sossusvlei are close by. These are the highest sand dunes in the world and there are plenty of adventure activities to engage in!
Day 5, Sesriem to Sesriem (via Sossusvlei)
An early start as we enter into the park and head for Dune 45. Clamber to the top for a stunning high-point view over the dunes. We continue to Sossusvlei and from here you will have your own free time to explore the vlei or the surrounding area. Stunning photographic opportunities are available in the dunes so bring those cameras!!
Day 6, Sesriem to Windhoek
After watching the sunrise across this beautiful area we leave the serenity of the dunes and head north to Windhoek.
Day 7, Windhoek to Etosha National Park
We leave the capital city of Windhoek and head north to Namibia's premier nature reserve, Etosha National Park. With a wide variety of animal and bird life, the reserve is situated around the famous Etosha Pan with an extensive network of gravel roads allowing us the opportunity of accessing even the most remote areas of the park.
Day 8, Etosha National Park
Today we enjoy a full day of game driving, making our way east along the length of the park. After dinner make your way to another floodlit water hole to see what animals arrive at the water to drink, or relax at the campsite.
Day 9, Etosha National Park
We have a full day of game driving, making our way from east to west, across 150kms of the park. We relax this evening listening to the sounds of Africa. Floodlit waterholes allow us to get as close to the action as possible, and still be behind the fence!
Day 10, Etosha National Park to Kamanjab
A final game drive as we leave Etosha and head to Kamanjab and our Himba camp. The Himba are a pastoral people easily recognisable by their unique style of dress. Visit the Himba camp and see how these interesting people live.
Day 11, Kamanjab to Brandberg
Today we head south passing through the small town of Khorixas before turning west towards the coast. If time and weather allows we will take in the Petrified Forest geological site and visit the ancient Bushman rock engravings at Twyfelfontein. Our stop tonight is at Namibia's highest mountain, Brandberg - an ancient Bushman spiritual site.
Day 12, Brandberg to Swakopmund (via Skeleton Coast National Park)
After a early guided hike to the world famous "White Lady" rock paintings (believed to be 20,000 years old,) we jump back on the road and travel further west towards the Skeleton Coast. A quick stop at Uis allows us time to buy semi-precious stones at very good prices before we arrive at the Cape Cross Seal Colony. After looking at (and smelling) up to 100,000 Cape Fur Seals you will be ready to stop for the night at Namibia's adventure capital - Swakopmund.
Day 13, Swakopmund to Windhoek
After enjoying some of the many sights and sounds of Swakopmund, we travel to Windhoek - capital of Namibia.
