About Outjo

You'll find Outjo in Namibia, situated in a great spot that allows travellers to replenish their stocks and continue their Namibian adventure. The town of Outjo has its own museums, but beyond the dose of history, the town is great for feeding travellers to Etosha National Park and Gamkarab Cave.

Namibian flag

Outjo is rooted in Namibia's Kunene Region. Proudly Namibian!

German flag

Outjo was founded by Germans under the command of Colonel Theodor von Leutwein in 1897.

Outjo Main Street

This is quite a nice photo of Outjo main street. Nothing fancy, but it does the job.

Petrified Forest

Less than an hour away from Outjo is the area called the Petrified Forest. It's a small sandstone plateau that many travellers enjoy visiting.

Outjo itself isn't anything to write home about, but it does have a post office, and when you're sending post cards back home - that's all you need.
