Namibia money & banking is fairly simple in large cities like the capital. A range of national and international banks can be found in Windhoek, with smaller banks in Swakopmund, Walvis Bay and Luderitz.
Banking hours are generally Monday to Friday from 08h00-15h00 and Saturday from 09h00-11h00. The banks at the international airports are open 24 hours every day, and bureaux de change have longer hours in Windhoek.
Credit and debit cards are widely accepted in larger and tourist orientated towns, as well as in hotels, restaurants and game reserves. South African Rands are widely accepted across Namibia otherwise currency can be exchanged at the airport or at any of the exchange bureaus across the country. Rates are generally better at banks; however it can be hard to exchange currency that is not Euro, Dollar or Pound.
