Gobabis Budget Travel

Situated 200 km from Windhoek in Namibia, Gobabis is the heart of cattle farming area. Gobabis is also considered to be the capital of the east and is known as the “Little Texas” of Namiba.

Gobabis is so proud of their cattle farming that a statue of a bull with the inscription “Welcome to Cattle Country” awaits visitors as they enter the town. Gobabis borders the Kalahari Desert, and is traditionally in the land of the Herero people.

Gobabis budget travel is a must for any Namibia backpacking tours, and is highly recommended.

Gobabis Budget Safaris

Like many other towns in Namibia, Gobabis developed around a mission station and the name means “place of discussion” in the Nama language.

Gobabis budget safaris offer travelers a wealth of low cost attractions to experience, making this little town an ideal travel destination.

The most famous sight in the area is Gobabis Hill, which features several sets of 4000-year-old rock paintings of San origin. Some lie near the base at the northern end of the hill, though the best are halfway to the summit and face east. Visitors can park their 4WDs nearby and walk to the paintings.
