About Aus

What's in Aus exactly? Well, dunes, dunes and more dunes! Oh, plus a few horses and a fuel station. This desert-filled Namibian location is a great backpacking stopover destination. Other than sand, one thing this area does have in abundance is stunning sunsets. Every. Single. Night.

Haitsi Aibeb by tscherno

See those piled up rocks? They're what you call Haitsi Aibeb. They're graves of the Haiseb. They're specially for deities who lived in primitive times. In those days they believed that animals ruled and the dead could be revived.

Aus is one of those truly beautiful, unspoiled areas in Namibia. It's hard not to enjoy the unique destination while you're there...
