Namibia Overland Tours
Etosha National Park is the finest and most popular game reserve
in Namibia. Its most famous characteristic is the fact that the
area is dominated by a salt pan. The area has little rainfall and
the salt pan is part of the great Kalahari basin. The area is hot
and dry but attracts plenty of wildlife!
Etosha National Park is home to a variety of mammal species, including
elephant and giraffe. They are often viewed at the few scattered
watering holes throughout Namibia. Etosha is also home to many bird
species (pretty pink flamingoes flock to the salt pans of Etosha),
110 reptile species and 16 amphibian species. Namibia is a country
perfect for overlanding as it is a massive expanse of undiscovered
land and hidden gems.
Namibia, and in particular, Etosha is best left for the interested
traveller or overlander as it is the ultimate journey of discovery.
