A day-by-day breakdown of what to expect and where you'll be staying.
Day 1, Windhoek to Sesriem
A scenic drive takes us past the Eros and Naukluft Mountains and we enter the oldest desert in the world as we head to Sesriem - home base of the Sossusvlei Dune Field.
Day 2, Sesriem to Sesriem via (Sossusvlei)
An early start as we enter into the park and head for Dune 45. Clamber to the top for a stunning high-point view over the dunes. We continue to Sossusvlei and from here you will have your own free time to explore the vlei or the surrounding area. Stunning photographic opportunities are available in the dunes so bring those cameras!!
Day 3, Sesriem to Luderitz
Heading south, we travel through the Namib Rand Nature Reserve and on to the village of Helmeringhausen. Traversing this sparse, yet beautiful landscape, the terrain fades from immense red sand dune desert to open grass savannah and farmland. We continue on to the coastal town of Luderitz with its colonial-style buildings and awesome view of the rough seas of the bay.
Day 4, Luderitz to Fish River Canyon
Today our journey takes us to Kolmanskop, a desert ghost town built in the 1920’s during the diamond rush and abandoned when bigger and better diamonds were found further along the coast. Still abandoned, over the years the desert has taken over the entire town, giving it an eerie atmosphere. From here we travel on to Aus through the “Forbidden Zone”, so named because in years gone by, the alluvial diamonds found in Namibia were simply scattered across the desert. Keep an eye out for the Namib desert’s wild horses!
Day 5, Fish River Canyon to Keetmanshoop
Entering the Kalahari Desert area of Namibia we visit the Kokerboom (Quiver tree) Forest. The Kokerboom or Quiver Tree Aloe dichotoma is a tree aloe and is one of the most characteristic plants of Namibia.
Day 6, Keetmanshoop to Kalahari Desert
Leaving the south, we begin our journey north-east travelling through the thin strip of Kalahari Desert that protrudes onto the eastern side of Namibia. This area is very dry and is covered by hundreds of striking red sand dunes, separated by flat grass-covered plains.
Day 7, Kalahari Desert to Windhoek
We rise early to venture out on a nature drive where you’ll get to scope out the diverse wildlife and birdlife as well as the brilliant dunes and vegetation as we make our way back to Windhoek where our trip comes to a pleasant end.

The highlight of my trip had to be Gweru in Zimbabwe, it was my idea of paradise. So much to do there with the animals and the location of it was just beautiful!

The trip was great! A very relaxed ride in a mokoro, followed by camping in the Okavango Delta and watching the animals on the islands was awesome!
