Build Your Trip to Africa
Beira Budget Travel
Beira is the second largest city in Mozambique. Situated in the central region of the country in Sofala Province, Beir budget travel is a popular holiday option in Africa.
Port of Beira acts as a gateway for both the central interior portion of the country as well as the land-locked nations of Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi.
Beira Budget Safari
Beira was established in 1890 by the Portuguese and was originally called Chiveve, after a local river. In honor of the Portuguese crown prince Dom Luiz Filipe, who in 1907 was the first member of the royal family to visit Mozambique, it was re-named. Traditionally the Portuguese crown prince carried the title of Prince of Beira.
Beira budget safari attactions include the Macuti Light which was built in 1904, the cathedral which was built in 1925, Casa Dos Bicos which hosts trade fairs, Casa De Cultura cultural centre, beaches and a golf club.
Activities to enjoy include golf at the run-down but functional golf club, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving, cultural excursions, visits to local landmarks and fishing.

Hi Okkie, Beira is about 1400km from Johannesburg. I recommend you to contact the local tourism information center in Beira for more information. Good Luck and happy trails!
