Morocco money & banking is relatively fuss-free, especially in the capital and other major cities and towns. The currency used is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). US currency is often accepted, but not everywhere.
A number of banks are found within the country, and banking hours are typically Monday to Friday, from 08:30 to 16:00, and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00. Travellers cheques are not accepted, and banks will not be able to cash these either. Credit cards are widely accepted however. If you are planning to use your debit or ATM card, make sure that your bank is supported, and try to only draw from public ATMs during busy daylight hours to avoid fraud or theft.
