Chefchaouen Budget Travel
Chefchaouen budget travel is one of the most popular adventure options in Morocco.
The name refers to the shapes of the mountain tops that look like two horns (chaoua) of a goat. Chef Chaouen means ‘look at the horns’.
Chefchaouen Budget Safaris
Chefchaouen is a favourite of European tourists in summer and has about 200 hotels and hostels, making Chefchaouen budget safaris a popular option for travellers on a budget.
One interesting characteristic of Chefchaouen architecture is its blue-rinsed houses and buildings, a tradition that comes from the town’s Jewish population.
Chefchaouen offers many native handicrafts that are not available elsewhere in Morocco, such as wool garments and woven blankets. The goat cheese native to the area is also a favourite with visitors.
Highlights include the Spanish-built Iglesia (Spanish for church), which is currently a theatre, and there are also a number of mosques in the town, including the only octagon minaret in Islam.
A visit to the Outa el-Hammam town square is another highlight not to missed. This area is more like a clearing between houses than a town square and is home to a number of shows and stalls.
