Malealea Pony Trekking

Known as the Mountain Kingdom, Lesotho is also very famous for its mountain ponies and no visit to Lesotho would be complete without a Malealea Pony Trek.

Sturdy ponies are the transport of choice for most Basotho (local people from Lesotho) as they handle the narrow trails better than any 4x4 can!

Malealea Pony Trekking is a community tourism operation and the ponies are hired from their Basotho owners who directly benefit from tourist activities in their area.

The trails traverse spectacular mountain passes and some of Lesotho’s highest waterfalls while you explore Bushman paintings and experience true Basotho culture.

Why do the Malealea Pony Trekking?

Support the local community whilst viewing the stunning Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho
