Mount Mulanje in Malawi

This spectacular igneous rock mountain is surrounded by level plains and is easily accessible to visitors. Mount Mulanje lies to the east of Blantyre and its unique beauty is appreciated by all who visit this strange geographical structure. Many adventure lovers enjoy camping and trekking on the slopes of this mountain. Mount Mulanje offers its lucky visitors many hiking routes with quaint, rustic huts along the way for overnight stops.

Once you have begun your hike up the mountain you will find that the vegetation changes with altitude, offering an interesting variety of plants and animal life. On the south western slopes of Mount Mulanje you will find the drainage area of River Lichenya.
