Malawi Overland Tours
Lake Malawi is the primary lake of the Great Rift Valley and is
the ninth largest lake in the world. There are many small Malawian
villages that lie on the shore of this African lake and the lake
is the main source of income and food for many locals.
Lake Malawi is the ultimate destination for scuba diving, snorkelling
and fishing as it has clear, deep waters with a magnificent mountain
as a backdrop. There is a national park in the southern end of Lake
Malawi that is home to hundreds of different fish species. Although
Lake Malawi is a lake it is actually more of a large "inland
sea" giving Lake Malawi a unique character.
Lake Malawi has beautiful beaches, secluded swimming areas and
an amazing tropical environment. Lake Malawi is a freshwater lake
that bears the same elements that the ocean does. When the winds
are strong there are surfable waves and the beaches are perfect
for relaxing on!
