A day-by-day breakdown of what to expect and where you'll be staying.

Livingstone to Johannesburg

Day 1, Livingstone

Our day is at leisure to explore the town of David Livingstone and experience some of the many activities.

Day 2, Livingstone

With a day full of adventure, be sure not to miss the Bungee from Victoria Falls bridge, World class White Water rafting or abseil down Batoka Gorge. For the less adventurous there is horse back safaris, elephant back safaris, and the ever popular 'Flight of the Angels'.

Livingstone to Johannesburg

Day 3, Livingstone to Kafue National Park

From Livingstone, we head north-east into Zambia and stop at the Kafue River. We spend the night here and have the opportunity to visit the neighbouring village and meet the local people who live nearby.

Day 4 to 5, Kafue National Park to Lower Zambezi Valley

Down into the Lower Zambezi Valley we go for 1 relaxing night on the river and second night back to the campsite at Gwabi. Campfires, bird and wildlife watching.... sounds perfect!

Livingstone to Johannesburg

Day 6, Lower Zambezi Valley to Lusaka

Lusaka is where we stock up on supplies in the bustling shops and markets of the Zambian capital.

Day 7 to 9, Lusaka to South Luangwa National Park

South Luangwa National Park is wild and remote and has an abundance of wildlife rarely seen in other game reserves. We base ourselves on the banks of the Luangwa River and explore the area with a game walks and a game drive.

Day 10 to 11, South Luangwa National Park to Lake Malawi

Malawi “the warm heart of Africa”. We re-stock with fresh supplies in the markets of Lilongwe before heading to our camp on the beach at Lake Malawi. We’ll take a boat out to the islands to explore the fantastic bays and coves in the area.

Day 12 to 13, Lake Malawi to

Heading south again we enter Mozambique at Zobue border post. Making our way back over the Zambezi we travel through the Tete region, camping en route in this remote part of Mozambique

Livingstone to Johannesburg

Day 14 to 15, Bazaruto

Upon reaching the Indian Ocean we stay overnight in Vilankulos. We take a full day to explore the Magaruque Island on a local dhow, a traditional ocean going trade vessel. Beautiful blue sea, snorkeling, expansive white beaches and some excellent seafood available – what a day!

Day 16 to 17, Bazaruto to Inhambane

Arab influences are strong in Inhambane dating back to when slaves, ivory, gold and spices were traded. Explore Inhambane and its 200-year-old cathedral, before moving to our casitas (reed cabin) under the palms next to the beach.

Livingstone to Johannesburg

Day 18, Inhambane to Bilene

We travel further south along the coast to the town of Bilene situated on the shores of the Uembje lagoon. The lagoon is 8km wide and 27km long with clear water and white, sandy beaches

Day 19 to 20, Bilene to Kruger National Park

We enter the greater Kruger National Park to visit big game country! Exciting game drives allow chances to spot lions, giraffe and the mighty elephant. Relaxing in the tranquil bush we experience the true African wilderness.

Livingstone to Johannesburg

Day 21 to 22, Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

Departing Kruger, we tour the Panorama Route, visiting Bourkes Luck Potholes, God’s Window and the Three Sisters.
We return to Johannesburg in the afternoon of day 22, sun-tanned, laid-back and ready to rejoin life.
