Lebanon Plants


Lebanon plants include a number of crop plants such as olive, fig and fruit trees and grapevines, as well as olm oaks, maple, juniper, fir, cypress, valonia oak, Aleppo pine trees and the famous Lebanese cedar on the mountain regions, with a number of other pine trees to be found in addition to flowering plants. All in all, the country has approximately 3,000 species of plant to be found across its various habitats and regions.

Vegetation in Lebanon


In a country that comprises 75% interrupted woodlands, forest vegetation is one of the foremost plants found in Lebanon. Vegetation types range from subtropical and desert to alpine.

Key forest vegetation in Lebanon includes Oak forests, pine forests, cedar, fir and juniper forests and evergreen Cypress forests. Other vegetation in Lebanon includes shrublands and other sparsely vegetated regions.
