Tania - OverlandingAfrica.com03 Jan 2011: Salam Meheran, I have been to Beirut many times and the only people I have seen carrying guns are the Police and Army at the checkpoints. I have certainly never seen people with machine guns running around everywhere! I have never been skiing there but there are masses of websites with info. Look up Ski Lebanon and you will find some options. Ma Salaama.
Meheran02 Jan 2011: Salam to all, I'm very keen to visit Beirut but l was told that, it is not safe and you can find ordinary men armed with machine guns almost everywhere! well, is that statement true? FYI l'm from Malaysia(muslim),and would like to experience snow(ski) in Beirut end of January this year with my family(all teenagers). Can anyone advice? Thank you
