Lake Tana Scenic Boat Cruise

Bahir Dar is perched on the edge of Lake Tana and the source of the Blue Nile River traditionally linking Ethiopia with the rest of the ancient world.

Lake Tana boasts 37 islands within its shores and on 30 of those islands you can find churches and monasteries of great historical interest.

The Lake Tana Scenic Boat Cruise takes you to the best known monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret founded in the 14th century.

The church houses a fantastic collection of artefacts from the 16th to the 18th century including many of important religious significance mixed up with crowns of by-gone Kings and ancient leather bibles.
