Mount Kenya is an ancient extinct volcano that boasts rugged glacier-clad summits and forested middle slopes. Mount Kenya offers some of the best contrasting landscapes in the world and is the second highest mountain in Kenya that straddles the equator.

The tar road surrounding the mountain makes the area fairly accessible to get to and the impressive mountain draws in travellers from far and wide. Mount Kenya National Park offers many opportunities to view the variety of game in the region. Animals common to the region are elephant, monkey, baboon, bushbuck, buffalo, black rhino and forest hog.
