Amboseli National Park in Kenya

Amboseli National Park is located in the Great Rift Valley and is the second most popular park after the Masai Mara National Park. Mount Kilimanjaro is the paternal backdrop to the Amboseli National Park and it contributes the spectacular setting. Added to the backdrop are the main contrasting wildife areas that are comprised of open plains, rocky thorn, acacia woodlands, bush country, marshlands and swamps. These permanent swamps attract wildlife such as elephant, zebras, herds of buffalo, hippos, cheetah and lions.

The large concentration of wildlife mainly occurs during the dry season and the park is easily accessible via the main road from Nairobi. The 56 species of mammal are an amazing site for those interested in the array of wildlife that Africa offers.
