Dead Sea Airports

While there are no Dead Sea airports within the area itself, Queen Alia International Airport is situated about an hour or so from the Dead Sea, in the capital city of Amman. This airport is one of the country’s largest and most well established airports, offering international and domestic flights to and from a range of destinations throughout the Middle East and beyond. Marka International Airport in East Amman is also situated within driving distance of the Dead Sea.

Queen Alia International Airport in Amman and Marka International Airport in East Amman are the main airports in Dead Sea and surrounds. Queen Alia International Airport is the largest and busiest of Jordan's airports, with three terminals consisting of two passenger terminals and one cargo terminal. The airport is named after Queen Alia, the third wife of King Hussein of Jordan, who was killed in a helicopter crash in 1977. Airlines that are serviced by these airports include Royal Jordanian Airlines, Royal Wings, Jordan Aviation and Arab Wings.
