Aqaba Transport

Aqaba transport includes a few basic options for travel within the country, most of which use road transport routes. While there are some domestic airlines, generally the small size of Jordan makes getting around by road the simplest and cheapest option. Aqaba is at the heart of a project to connect all the major cities by rail by 2013.

Getting around Aqaba

Getting around Aqaba and its nearby attractions is a fairly simple process, with buses, taxis (private and service) and car hire on offer. The JETT bus company offers routes to most major towns and tourist areas, with cheap fares and well-run buses that are easy to find and take. Taxis are also on offer, with both private taxis and service taxis available. These range in price, with service taxis being shared and therefore cheaper than private taxis. Getting around by car can be done with Aqaba care hire or 4x4 hire, which is probably the best option as the roads are often in a fairly poor state in some parts.
