Inhambane Scuba Diving

The old European settlement of Inhambane in southern Mozambique has a varied and chequered history.

Founded by Swahili traders the town has been an Arab slave port, an Indian ivory trading centre, burnt down by the African chief Soshangane and claimed by Portugal as its prime trading post in Africa before today enjoying Mozambican independence.

The long coastline supports a variety of underwater life, Dugongs and Whale Sharks have homes here, and has become a popular fishing and SCUBA diving highlight.

Inhambane Scuba Diving is available year round but avoid cyclone season if you can. Not only is the visibility terrible the middle of a cyclone is not a recommended place to enjoy your holiday.

Why do the Inhambane Scuba Diving?

Old European settlement Colorful history Vibrant trading center Portuguese influence Warm tropical water
