Day 1 to 2, Johannesburg to Maun

We head north into the Kalahari desert which dominates the biggest part of Botswana. The town of Maun is the gateway to the Okavango Delta which we will explore in the coming days.

Day 3, Maun to Okavango Delta

You have the opportunity to take a 3 day / 2 night excursion into the Delta. You travel in local transport and then in mokoros, the local dug out canoes, which are poled by local guides through the winding waterways. These local canoes are a perfect way to navigate this waterway wonder - the biggest inland Delta in the world. Your guides will select a place out in the bush to set up camp. An afternoon game walk will allow you to experience the Delta wilderness in all its glory.

Day 4, Okavango Delta

Today is a free day for you to spend at your leisure. The variety of optional activities range from game walks to swimming. Relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings.

/images/flickr/Photo_of_Okavango_DeltaBotswana_/3346634594_s.jpg

Day 5, Okavango Delta

Early morning and late afternoon game walks give you time in the middle of the day to relax, chill out and enjoy your surroundings. Why don't you have a go at poling your own mokoro? It is not as easy as it looks!

Day 6, Okavango Delta to Kasane

From the Okavango Delta we cross to Chobe National Park in northern Botswana. This is one of the largest parks in southern Africa and provides us with some excellent game viewing opportunities.

Day 7, Kasane to Victoria Falls

After a hearty brunch we make our way into Zimbabwe and to Victoria Falls. Approx 1700 m wide and 100 m high, Victoria Falls is a memorable sight! Take part in one of the many adventure activities or relax in the campsite by the pool.

/images/flickr/Photo_of_Victoria_Falls_Zimbabwe_/3215124786_s.jpg

Day 8, Victoria Falls

Today you will have a chance to do a few of the optional activities on offer in this adventure paradise. The Falls can be seen from many viewing points in the Victoria Falls Park or from the Zambian side. You will have many photo opportunities. Bungee jumping enthusiasts can take the plunge from the Zambezi Bridge, which connects Zambia and Zimbabwe and the White water rafting is considered world class. Also, flights over the Vic Falls and the islands are available.

Day 9, Victoria Falls to Bulawayo

From the adrenaline capital of Africa we head south west towards Zimbabwe's second largest city of Bulawayo. Here we will have the option to explore some of Africa's finest arts and crafts at the many local markets.

Day 10, Bulawayo

Here we visit the Matobo National Park which is renowned for its many leopards, black eagles and rhino. Many caves and rock paintings are evidence of the ancient San inhabitants in this area and Cecil Rhodes (after whom Rhodesia was named) was buried here at his own request.

/images/flickr/Photo_of_Bulawayo_Zimbawe/3351174746_s.jpg

Day 11, Bulawayo to Gweru

We head to the famous Antelope Park in Gweru where we will have the rare opportunity to walk with Lion cubs, swim with Elephants or go horse riding.

Day 12 to 13, Gweru to Vilanculos

Continuing westward across Zimbabwe we enter Mozambique and arrive at the beautiful coastline of Vilanculos. We notice a complete contrast in scenery, culture and climate from the landlocked Zimbabwe to the tropical Mozambique.

Day 14, Vilanculos to Bazaruto

We sail on a traditional Dhow to the stunning islands of the Bazaruto Archipelago where we can snorkel, swim and soak up the sun. Tropical waters and gorgeous coral and reef life make for a amazing day!

/images/flickr/Photo_of_Vilanculos_Mozambique/3364680627_s.jpg

Day 15, Vilanculos to Inhambane

Heading south through the beautiful coconut plantations brings us to the old European settlement of Inhambane arriving in the early afternoon.

Day 16, Inhambane

A free day to enjoy some of the optional activities available. Try your hand at Scuba Diving, Quad Biking, Fishing, Horse Riding or take a Boat Cruise on the bay. If that sounds like too much work then just relax on the white sand beaches with a good book or your journal.

Day 17, Inhambane to Maputo

Leaving the white sand beaches and laid back vibe of Inhambane we travel further south and discover the hustle and bustle of the capital - Maputo. Spend the afternoon exploring this historic African city.

/images/flickr/Photo_of_Maputo/3343391553_s.jpg

Day 18, Maputo to Kruger National Park

We depart from the hustle and bustle of Maputo, cross back into South Africa and enter Kruger National Park - home of the Big 5! We spend our time game driving before arriving at our camp. Optional, guided Night and Dawn Game Drives are available.

Day 19, Kruger National Park

Game Drives and animal spotting take up our day with the odd stop for lunch or a swim if the weather allows.

Day 20, Kruger National Park to Johannesburg

An opportunity for a early morning game drive before we return to Johannesburg and the end of our tour.
