Gorilla Trekking in Africa
Track and observe gorillas in
their natural habitats, deep in
the rain forests of Uganda,
Rwanda and Congo. This experience
is one travelers will never forget.
Gorilla trekking projects offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to track mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, to see how these great apes live and interact. Long poached for bush meat and illegal traditional medicine, these magnificent animals are highly endangered, but due to gorilla tourism and increased awareness and protection measurements, they are slowly becoming safe.
Gorilla Treks in Congo, Uganda & Rwanda
In Rwanda, the best place to see gorillas is Parc National des Volcans, while in Uganda gorillas can be found in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
In the Republic of Congo, gorillas can be found in the volcanic forests areas of Virunga National Park, which lies along the border of Congo and Uganda.
Visitors to gorilla families should only ever go with a trained guide to ensure that the gorillas are not disturbed or frightened. Human interference is kept to a minim to avoid upsetting the gorillas, but visitors are able to see the gorillas up close and spend time observing these amazing animals.

The highlight of my trip had to be Gweru in Zimbabwe, it was my idea of paradise. So much to do there with the animals and the location of it was just beautiful!

The trip was great! A very relaxed ride in a mokoro, followed by camping in the Okavango Delta and watching the animals on the islands was awesome!
