Many travelers to the region wonder about the best time to visit Ghana – so when is the best time to travel to this country then?
Tourist high season is typically from June to August, however there are other good times to visit.
Ghana has a tropical climate, which is hot and humid all year round. The weather is best during dry season from December to April; however this is also the hottest time of year, especially in the north.
The south is best during July and August, when the rains have stopped and the air is still a bit cooler. There are some strong desert winds during this time however.
If you are hoping to experience some of the festivals and village celebrations, then August and September are the best times to visit, during harvest time. There is a lot to see and experience during these months on the cultural front, and the weather is good too.
