So you think you have the basics covered, but now you need to know what to buy for your holiday in Ghana?
One of the first things to get is a good Ghana travel guide, which has a current map. A Ewe or Akan language phrase book is also a good item to have with you if you can find one, or a book specializing in Ghana languages.
A sturdy, fair-sized backpack is also recommended. Large suitcases are difficult to carry around, especially on overlanding tours, while a backpack is mobile and easy to manage. A good money bag is also a good idea to keep your money and documents secure.
US and UK travelers will need to get a plug adapter, as chargers and other electrical items may not fit into sockets otherwise.
If you are overlanding tour, then a good quality, durable sleeping bag will be required. Waterproofing is essential, and bags should be able to last through your adventures. A camping mattress is also advised.
