All travellers will needs visas for Ghana – visa requirements are fairly straightforward however, and are much like any West African country.
Some countries in West Africa require single parents to have proof of parent status when travelling alone with a child. A birth certificate or similar will be suitable proof, so make sure you bring this along if you are travelling with children.
Visa costs vary - from £30 for a single-entry visa, to £40 for a multiple-entry visa for six months, £60 for a multiple-entry visa for one year, £70 for a multiple-entry visa for two years and £10 for a transit visa.
Generally visas take about 4 days to be processed, and a minimum of 10 days if applying through post. While visas can technically be obtained for anything from one month to 2 years, this isn't always applicable and the average length of stay is about 3 months.
