Game Viewing in Africa

Game viewing in Africa is one of the primary tourist attractions, with an abundance of game species to be seen. Africa is world-renowned for its wealth of top game reserves and abundance of wildlife.

The Big 5 of Africa

The famous Big 5 Lion, Elephant, Buffalo, Leopard and Rhino can be found in most parts of Africa, while smaller game such as cheetah, giraffe, zebra, crocodile and antelope can be found across the continent.

Africa's Best Game Reserves

The biggest game reserve in world is the Central Kalahari Desert Game Reserve in Botswana. With a remote and secluded environment and a harsh climate, this reserve is a bit off the beaten track, but it has a wealth of wildlife that adventurists are sure to enjoy.

Game species in the reserve include giraffe, brown hyena, warthog, cheetah, wild dog, leopard, lion, blue wildebeest, eland, gemsbok, kudu, red hartebeest and springbok.

Kruger National Park in South Africa is famous for being one of Africa’s largest and most popular reserves, and is home to the Big 5.

Namibia also has some prime game viewing opportunities, including the unforgettable desert elephants of the Namib Desert.

Gorilla Trekking in Uganda & Rwanda

Uganda and Rwanda are the top gorilla trekking countries in Africa. Gorilla tracking projects are available to track the stunning mountain gorillas in the rich rainforests of the reserve.
