An optional canoe trip on the calm Orange River is available here before we travel further into Namibia. Our campsite is Hobas, which is only a short drive away from the Fish River Canyon.
Day 4, Fish River Canyon to Keetmanshoop
Entering the Kalahari Desert area of Namibia we visit the Kokerboom (Quiver tree) Forest. The Kokerboom or Quiver Tree Aloe dichotoma is a tree aloe and is one of the most characteristic plants of Namibia.
Day 5, Keetmanshoop to Sesriem
This morning those who wish to spend some time with the !Kung tribe will have the chance to do so. Later we drive west towards the massive dunes of Sossusvlei and the Namib Naukluft Park.
Day 6, Sesriem to Sesriem (via Sossusvlei)
An early start as we enter into the park and head for Dune 45. Clamber to the top for a stunning high-point view over the dunes. We continue to Sossusvlei and from here you will have your own free time to explore the vlei or the surrounding area. Stunning photographic opportunities are available in the dunes so bring those cameras!!
Day 7, Sesriem to Swakopmund
A spectacular sunset awakens us this morning. We travel north towards Walvis Bay via some glorious desert passes, and make our way along the coast, before finally arriving in Namibia's prime adventure resort - Swakopmund.
Day 8, Swakopmund
A leisure day today to get the feel of this quaint German town sandwiched between the edge of a massive dune field and the ocean. Take on some adventure activities or relax in a cafe on the beachfront.
Day 9, Swakopmund to Himba Village
We head inland and travel towards Kamanjab and a local Himba Village. A perfect chance to see how other cultures live.

Northbound we pass some barren but stunning scenery on our way to the jewel of Namibian wildlife parks - Etosha National Park.
Day 11, Etosha National Park
Today we enjoy a full day of game driving, making our way east along the length of the park. After dinner make your way to another floodlit water hole to see what animals arrive at the water to drink, or relax at the campsite.
