England Transport

England transport is extremely advanced and reliable, with a number of relatively cheap options to get around various towns and cities.

Generally driving in the main cities is not advised; however some travelers may prefer to hire a car and opt for self-drive – which can be great in the countryside areas.

Getting around England

Getting around England is generally done by train, taxi or bus, and all three options offer cheap and fairly reliable transport.

Train Travel in England
Known as the Tube, England’s underground train system is the most common and quick way to get around. Tickets are generally fairly prices, and trains run throughout the day and night to all destinations in the country.

Bus Travel in England
Buses are also reliable and cheap, with buses running around major cities and towns as well as routes between towns at various times of day.

Taxi Travel in England
Meter taxis are usually black, and are the best bet in general. Many unlicensed taxis operate illegally in the country, especially in the cities, but should be avoided as these can be dangerous and expensive. Most hotels can arrange taxis for you, and restaurants can also call a taxi for you.
